Window cleaners in Colne.
JWF have cleaned windows in Colne, Trawden and Foulridge for years — we're based fifteen minutes down the M65 in Burnley, and the vans are at the Colne end of it most weeks. Jack Fairburn started the business in 2001; we're now a team of six covering homes and businesses across BB8, from Albert Road up to Laneshaw Bridge.

Do you come out to us?
Colne, from the town centre to the tops.
This is where we actually clean — not a list of places we'd drive to if asked. Colne's built on a hill, so the rounds run in loops off Skipton Road and Keighley Road. If your street isn't named, ring anyway; we're usually on the next one.
Colne centre, Albert Road & Market Street shops, Vivary Bridge, Waterside, Primet Bridge, Bunkers Hill, Alkincoats, North Valley, Skipton Road, Keighley Road, Castle Road
Stone terraces stacked up the hillside, plus the shops and offices along Albert Road. Three-storey fronts are fine — the pole does them from the pavement.
Trawden, Winewall, Cottontree, Laneshaw Bridge, Foulridge, Wycoller edge
Bigger detached and semi-detached houses, more conservatories, more weather off Boulsworth. Village rounds are grouped on the same day so the van isn't running back and forth.
Barrowford, Nelson, Brierfield, Higherford, Barrowford Road
On the road between Colne and home, so we pick these up on the same run. Barrowford in particular is a busy patch for us.
Two kinds of customer
Homes on a round. Businesses on a contract.
Pick your lane. Domestic and commercial run on different schedules, different paperwork and slightly different kit — but the same six people do both, and it's the same phone number.
Domestic window cleaning in Colne
Most of our residential customers in Colne are on a four-weekly round; some prefer eight-weekly, especially out in the villages where the houses are more sheltered. There's no contract. You book, we come, and we message the day before so you can leave the gate open. You don't need to be in.
A domestic clean covers the glass, the frames, the sills and the door panels — frames and sills aren't an extra. Everything's done from the ground with pure water, so there's no ladder against your wall and no soap on the stone.
Prices are for a regular four-weekly round. One-off cleans and first cleans after a long gap cost a little more because there's more to shift. Tell us the postcode and rough size of the house and we'll price it over the phone.
How our domestic rounds workCommercial window cleaning in Colne
Shops on Albert Road and Market Street, offices, cafés, pubs, schools, care homes and the units out along the North Valley — we clean them all on a scheduled contract. Several of our commercial contracts across East Lancashire have run without a break since the day we took them on.
Where it matters we work before opening or after close. Shopfronts on the main road are usually done first thing so nobody's stepping round a pole; offices tend to prefer mid-morning when the car park's empty.

The system we use
How we actually clean your windows.
Plenty of window cleaners around Colne still work off ladders with a bucket and detergent. It's fine on a bungalow. On a three-storey terrace up Bunkers Hill it's slower, riskier, and the soap film dulls the glass a little more every visit.
We use a pure water reach-and-wash system. Tap water goes through a filter in the van that strips out every mineral and salt — measured to zero parts per million — then feeds up a carbon-fibre pole to a soft brush head. We scrub, rinse, and walk away. Because there's nothing dissolved in the water, there's nothing left to mark the glass when it dries. No squeegee, no streaks, no soap on your render.
It's the same water we sell to other trade cleaners from our pure water filling station in Burnley, so it's checked every day.
Why Colne customers stick with us
An East Lancashire firm, not a franchise with a Colne page.
Most of our work arrives by word of mouth — a neighbour, a friend on Facebook, the shop next door. That only happens if you've been around long enough for people to have an opinion. Here's ours.
Fifteen minutes away, not fifty.
Jack started JWF in Burnley in 2001 and the office is still there. The whole team lives within ten miles of Colne. When you ring about a missed gate or a cracked pane, the person who answers knows the road — and can usually tell you when the van's next on it. Meet the team.
Part of the local scene.
We sponsor Burnley Belvedere FC and back local boxer Nathan Danson, and we've raised money for charity through local clubs more than a few times. It's not why people book us — but it's why we feel like a local business rather than a van with a phone number.
We look out for our older customers.
A good number of our longest-standing customers are in their seventies and eighties. If we're there and a bag of shopping needs carrying in or a wheelie bin needs shifting, we do it. We've never charged for that and we're not going to start.
Just outside BB8
Not quite Colne? We're probably still nearby.
Colne is the far end of our East Lancashire run. These are the neighbouring rounds — the full list is on our main window cleaning page.
Questions we get on the phone
Colne window cleaning FAQs.
How much does window cleaning cost in Colne?
Most three-bed terraced houses in Colne are £12–£15 per clean on a four-weekly round. Semis are £15–£20. Larger detached properties out in Trawden, Foulridge or Laneshaw Bridge, conservatories and roof lanterns are quoted individually. Commercial pricing depends on the site — send the address and we'll come and look, no charge.
How often should I have my windows cleaned?
Four-weekly is what most Colne households choose — the glass stays consistently clear without it feeling excessive. Eight-weekly works if the house is sheltered or you'd rather space it out. For commercial premises it depends on footfall and how visible the glass is: a shop on Albert Road usually wants fortnightly or four-weekly, a unit on the North Valley might be quarterly.
Do I need to be home when you come?
No. We work outside the property, and frames and sills are included as standard. All we need is access to the back, which on most Colne terraces means an unlocked back gate or ginnel. We always message the day before so you can sort that.
Do you work in the rain?
Light rain, yes — and on this side of Pendle that matters. Pure water glass doesn't streak in the rain, because when the water on the window is as pure as what's falling on it there's nothing left to mark. In proper weather we'll reschedule, and you're never charged for a clean we didn't do.
How do I pay?
BACS, card over the phone, cash on the day, or Direct Debit through GoCardless if you'd rather not think about it — see payments. Nothing ties you in. You can pause or stop the round whenever with a quick message so we can update the schedule.
Can you do my gutters or uPVC at the same time?
Yes — gutter cleaning, uPVC and fascia cleaning and pressure washing can all be added to a Colne window round. They're quoted separately, but bundling them saves a second trip up the M65 and usually a bit of money.
Book your Colne window clean.
Ring the office or send the form and we'll come back within the working day with a price. Most domestic quotes are sorted on the spot from the postcode. For a commercial job we'll meet you on site at a time that suits.
